The Connecticut Institute for Social Entrepreneurship (CISE)’s Social Entrepreneurship Course is designed for participants from any major area of academic study and it focuses on helping them to create job opportunities for themselves and their communities through entrepreneurship and promote social change-it provides participants with necessary skills and community to initiate and grow their businesses as well as reinforces their professional skills in the workplace.

Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
- Understand the complex nature of creating a business
- Demonstrate awareness of new business opportunities
- Understand the impact of continuous innovation on the business sustainability.
- Understand creativity and articulate the links between thinking, problems solving and business challenges.
- Increased self-knowledge and self-actualization in creative thinking (sensitivity to problems, flexibility, originality, and elaboration).
- Utilize a variety of creative tools to stimulate new lines of thought and ideas.
- Create individual or group business plans.
- Understand the process and requirements of starting a new business.
- Do simple bookkeeping entries and stock management.
- Understand the importance of networking in the entrepreneurial process.
- Evaluate different models for their businesses.
